Bought 2 Motorola G (4) Cellphones

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Gave one to a friend. Theirs worked okay. After a Motorola system download about 2 weeks ago my phone became possessed. Icons moved by themselves. The phone would make phone calls on its own. Applications would disappear. The phone would turn itself off and then start up again. Phone would turn off in the middle of a call. Or it would change ring tones by itself. I use Webroot (great application) for security. Motorola says it cannot be fixed but has to be replaced. Hmmm.... means that they know some of their phones they sold were defective but don't know which ones. Poor quality control. Typical Chinese business practice. Options: Send in phone and $24.00 to cover return postage. Or Motorola will put a $200.00 hold on one of my credit cards and they will ship a new G (4) to me and when they get the piece of junk they sold me they will take the hold off of my card. Nope! They sold me garbage. Buying me another phone from a reputable company. Why should I have to be inconvenienced due to their poor quality standards?

Vying for Worst Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Vying for Worst Customer Service with great success. (although it's very hard to bead Comcast to the bottom of the pit) Wow, what a pack of idiots? I called requesting a replacement phone form my G5 that I purchased a week ago and after 20 minutes the customer service representative informed me that I would receive a 'used' phone. That was unacceptable, so they transferred me to another department and they told me that they could not send a new phone, even if I paid for it, and could only offer a used phone or a refund. So, in this day and age, what are you suppose to do while you wait for your new phone? They did not have any acceptable offers: used phone or refund oh, I'm still on hold trying to connect to the executive branch of Motorola (going on 58 minutes now)

The charger is not quality and its it is broken when it was insert for recharge. As I am a customer I want to file a case against its quality in consumer court. Please do positive response for it. The product is not valuable for the money we spent. The charger is failure and it performance is under valued. ONLY KNOW HOW TO READ POLICY

The protective screen on my Moto Z Force 2 began to de-laminate. Was advised by Motorola to send it in and they would put on a new screen. SO OK you are supposed to remove sim and SD card but assuming all they would do was replace the screen, I failed to do so. Mailed on Monday --- Phone returned Friday. That is the one and only positivepart of this review. They did provide fast turn around time. However, they decided to send a refurbished unit. NO SIM CARD --- NO 64-GIG SSD CARD. Explanation -- "We told you not to send them, so we threw them away. THREW THEM AWAY??? "Yes we thought there might be important data on the SD card --- so we threw it away. Now, hold on just minute. If you thought there might be important data on that card, did it not occur to you that I just might need it back. Next 45 minutes spent with different levels willing to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING -- other than read the policy until I had it memorized better then they did. OK, so some bone head tossed the card --- which probably conveniently fell in his/her pocket. What will you do to make restitution. NOTHING --- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING -- Except continue to insist on reading the policy. "OK, how about sending me one of the Moto Mods?" Began reading the policy. "How about another Motorola attachment?" More reading of the policy. OK, would you rather do SOMETHING, or lose me as a customer?" Once again read the policy. So, OK I should not have mailed the SIM and SD cards. But Just arbitrarily throwing them away when the easy, and proper thing to do was return them? And then offering absolutely for my $50 SD card than read the policy. YUP --- Motorola --- That is how you lose customers. BYE BYE!!

Fade to Black....

Motorola - Fade to Black....
Explore video interviews
Bought a Moto 360 Smartwatch 2 years ago and now it fades to black with sometimes up to 80% charge. The only way to get it back on is to put it on the base to charge. In speaking to customer support, they say it only had a 1 year warranty and it would cost me $35 just to evaluate the watch and then pay for the repair after. I can just see the repair cost now being high so I might as well bite the bullet and spend that money toward a new watch. Not a Motorola watch this time. Once bitten ...twice shy.

WORST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I upgraded for more memory & got the Motorola 4. It cut off almost every call I was on. It would lose sound all the time so I didn't know when I was getting a call or text or anything & when it played a video, there was no sound. I had to restart it continually to have sound. Metro PCS ordered me a replacement under the manufacturer warranty. The replacement phone had no working microphone so no one including phone calls, Google & automated systems could hear me! I changed carriers & got another brand phone.

I will never buy a Motorola phone again

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have an issue with my Moto Z Force phone. First the blue tooth became spotty, then it stopped working all together.

Next the WiFi became intermittent and now it will not work at all. I performed the factory resets and cleared the cashes, but no go. Finally I brought it back to the carrier. They did another factory reset and it still would not work properly.

I called Motorola and they stated that I needed to pay $150 to get it fixed and another $24 if I did not send in my phone and eventually get a replacement. Looking through the internet this is a known issue with this phone, but they will not stand behind their products.

Moto X4 had a line through the screen the first day out of the box. It's tactally way too slippery and can barely be put on a flat surface without moving or sliding on its own.

I have other issues with it, but I am Way too busy to process a return or mess around with lame gear. DO NOT BUY A MOTO X4.

Droid Turbo 2 Flawed

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The Droid Turbo 2 has a flaw. It stops taking a charge from any charger after about 3 months. I've had to get 3 replacement phones in a year and a half. The phone will barely charge unless you contact Motorola and have them send you a replacement charger (which they only will if the phone is still under THEIR warranty). Verizon sold the phone but of course NEVER sold the chargers. The phone sucks so bad that Verizon stopped selling them immediately but of course Verizon nor Motorola have offered any recourse. They BOTH know of this phone issue.

I keep getting emails from Motorola. I am usually a Samsung Galaxy girl. U can bet I will Never again try Motorola or trust their Specials. Motorola doesn't compare to Samsung. You can keep Motorola.

Non existant customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had to rate Motorola a 1 star as a rating of zero stars is not available, this Moto G4 phone is my first Motorola product and without a doubt, my last!!! The phone is crap (Google it and see how many people have the common problems) and the customer service is a lot worse! Impossible to get any information from them and they have no interest in fixing a faulty product, a truly horrible experience. Do yourself a favour and buy something else! Looks like I'll have to take legal action to recover my money. bla bla bla

Resolved: Motorola warranty scam & customer service from ***

Updated by user Aug 15, 2017

After legal department received my letter, they offered, and I accepted, to send a new phone with an upgrade to the G5 model.

Updated by user Aug 15, 2017

Seems like the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Moto reached out to me after the legal department received my letter.

They are sending a new phone, upgraded from G4 to G5.

It shouldn't have been that hard but I do appreciate Moto's recent effort to help. Thanks

Original review Aug 13, 2017
6 of the last 10 phones dead, 1 under warranty, 2 just outside 18 months (I'm still paying for under 24 mo contract), and 3 defective moto G plus phones in a row. Latest debacle: Mid June, I purchase a new G Plus (4).

Open the box when it arrives and pop the back cover to install my Verizon sim. Only 3 gold colored prongs in the slot. One prong is missing. Not bent, not broken but completely missing.

Try it anyway, of course no signal. Call moto customer service, return brand new unused phone, get a refurb phone as replacement. Not happy but I can live with it. Refurb has defective display...creates phantom characters just sitting on the table.

Hard reset, update, etc.. works fine for a few days then starts up again. 2nd phone goes back. Third phone arrives (another refurb).

Put sim in, no service?! Go to Verizon's bring your own device website to activate...imei # is invalid for Verizion. 1 1/2 hrs at verizon store, they tell me that this particular phone can't be used on their system. Imei is invalid for use.

5 more days with customer service... troubleshooting, IT research, escalation to tech support..nothing. We'll call you 24-48hrs and let you know if we can do anything. I've just about lost my *** I go out and take a chance and buy a locked Moto E for Verizon prepaid at Wallyworld for forty bucks so I can have a phone to use.

Put my postpaid sim in, everything works perfectly. Go figure. At this point I ask for a new phone (not refurb) since I sent them a brand new phone or my money back. "I can't do that but will give this to supervisor who can help you." Get a call the next day from another low level rep, asking me to start the whole process over....I comply.

Conversation ends with me asking for a new phone with "I can't do that but will give this to supervisor who can help you." Repeat 2 more days. Then get email questionnaire on customer service rating. Of course leave negative rating with explanation that I've been without a working phone for 7 weeks and have gotten 3 defective ones in a row. Get a email to please call.

I do. Entire troubleshooting process starts all over for the most recent phone that has a bad imei. "You have to speak with troubleshooting/tech support." Get a call from tech support, he agrees I've got a bad phone but...."I can't help you but will give this to supervisor who can help you." They'll call you within the hour. Of course, no phone call this evening.

WTF motorola? Ready to sue for breach of warranty in local court just to get my $200 back for the original phone. (The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act provides for this remedy after reasonable attempt to repair consumer item fails). Already sent notice of intent to file suit to corporate office.

I'll wait two weeks to see if they will try to make good. Otherwise, off to court.

Update....discovered that Motorola has a hidden opt-out clause in the legal terms document buried in the phone system settings. Consumers only have 30 days from the date of original purchase to manually opt out of Motorola's mandatory arbitration requirement.

And most recent higher court rulings have supported this corporate protection over consumers' rights laws like the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. So, unless I want to pay arbitration fees that are multiple times the cost of the phone, I'm SOL.

3rd defective phone went back today for an exchange-refurbished phone. Maybe this one will at least work.
